HELPING BUSINESSES MANAGE QUEUES

HELPING BUSINESSES MANAGE QUEUES

OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW

NextPessoa is a digital queue management platform designed to eliminate the frustration of long physical queues by allowing customers to join queues remotely, monitor their position in real time, and receive notifications when it's almost their turn. The platform helps businesses improve customer experience while enabling staff to manage visitor flow more efficiently.

As the Product Designer, I was responsible for designing the end-to-end user experience across both the customer and business interfaces. This included understanding user pain points, mapping user journeys, designing intuitive flows, creating high-fidelity interfaces, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure the solution met both customer needs and operational requirements.

CHALLENGE

CHALLENGE

Waiting in long queues is a common frustration across banks, hospitals, government offices, and service centers. Customers often spend valuable time waiting with little visibility into how long the process will take, leading to dissatisfaction and overcrowded waiting areas.

On the business side, queue management was largely manual, making it difficult to monitor customer flow, estimate waiting times, prioritize visitors, or collect meaningful operational insights. Staff also struggled with handling peak-hour traffic and communicating queue updates effectively.

Over the years most fintech solutions

have not been able to solve instant

payment transaction. There's always

complaints of bad or no network, failed

or reversed transactions. Meanwhile

if we are going to implore businesses that

are not tech savvy to embrace digital payment

processes, then we have to ensure we

are building a reliable payment infrastructure.

These people already have trust issues, we

cannot afford to add to their problem.

BRAINSTORMING

BRAINSTORMING

Before moving into wireframes, I reviewed the product owner's initial vision and design direction to understand the desired experience, core functionality, and business goals. This provided a strong foundation for exploring possible user flows and interface patterns.

To expand on these ideas, I used AI as a brainstorming partner throughout the discovery phase. Rather than generating final designs, AI helped me explore different approaches to queue management, identify potential edge cases, validate user flow ideas, and surface UX patterns commonly used in booking and scheduling products.

TARGET AUDIENCE

At first we thought of coming up with a USSD solution for individuals

who are not tech savvy but then we resorted to using physical cards

that can be credited by merchants near them. Merchants are SMEs ,

stores, filling stations etc.

The client alreadyhave a direction on what they

wanted to build, so the first thing we did was to

hold sesions of brainstorming on the user flows

and possible what-nots. During these calls we

took out time to understand the problem and

iterated on possible solutions;

  • Litepay to litepay transactions for fast and

    instant payment

  • Loyalty cards for transaction

  • Mobile POS and app

THE SOLUTION

Mobile POS for businesses

With the POS, businesses can receive payment, help customers

activate and recharge their cards

THE SOLUTION

Mobile POS for businessess

With the POS, businesses can receive payment,

help customers activate and recharde

their cards.

Cards

Individuals can use their cards to make payments, they can as well

credit the cards through merchants near them.

Mobile app

The tech savvy can use their mobile apps to make payments, we are building an ecosystem of litepay -to-litepay

infrastucture, So SMEs that uses our POS (Point of sale) app can only receive payment from a litepay app.

Takeaways

This project literarily was an interesting one, i enjoyed every brainstorming session, we meet every 2weeks for

virtual calls to share feedback and progress. I'm hopeful that this solution would help reach out to the underbanked

and lead to inclusion, everyone should have access to instant and easy payment

Feedback

We shared the interactive prototype with few petrol stations (SMEs) and they found it interesting,

this sounds good as  it helps us understand we are truly solving a problem.  Presently faced with understanding

CBN laws and how it affects  the process before we push forward for implementation.
